When cut, slices of the fruit have a star shape, and often adorn salads and other dishes. This fruits yellow flesh enclosed in a crisp skin is soft and juicy. Its flavor varies from sour to sweet. Star fruit is available all year around. Although it is eaten fresh, star fruit juice is very popular as it is believed to lower blood pressure.
